The SBA disaster declaration will allow homeowners, renters, businesses, and certain nonprofit organizations in Cook County and across northeastern Illinois to apply for low-interest disaster loans to support recovery efforts. This includes loans of up to $500,000 for real estate repairs, up to $100,000 for personal property and up to $2 million for businesses for physical damages. Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are also available to eligible small businesses and nonprofits experiencing financial losses as a result of the storms.
