Homeowners, renters, businesses, and certain nonprofit organizations in Cook County and across northeastern Illinois impacted by the August 16-19th, 2025 storms. Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are also available to eligible small businesses and nonprofits experiencing financial losses as a result of the storms.

Application process
The deadline to apply for physical damage loans is May 15, 2026, and the deadline for economic injury applications is December 16, 2026. Residents may also apply online.

City of Berwyn's Senior Center will act as an SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center from March 20th through April 9th to support residents in accessing U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) assistance. The SBA disaster declaration will allow homeowners, renters, businesses, and certain nonprofit organizations in Cook County and across northeastern Illinois to apply for low-interest disaster loans to support recovery efforts. This includes loans of up to $500,000 for real estate repairs, up to $100,000 for personal property and up to $2 million for businesses for physical damages. Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are also available to eligible small businesses and nonprofits experiencing financial losses as a result of the storms.
