Catholic Charities Senior Centers are a place for older adults to come together and connect with others in order to remain independent and avoid isolation. Senior Centers offer health, recreational, educational, social, and nutritional programs that promote healthy aging. Each center has a monthly calendar full of activities like health education sessions, exercise classes, field trips, and birthday parties. The centers also provide healthy and nutritious meals for breakfast and lunch.

Union Health Service (UHS) - Oak Park Center provides health services, education, and support for family planning, including birth control and pregnancy care.

DFSS provides centralized information and assessment via a Senior Services Hotline and also via in-person locations including City Hall and five regional senior centers. Palatine Library District offers opportunities for ESL learners to practice their English conversations skills with friendly volunteers. Additionally, ESL Read Together is a book club that provides participants with a non-threatening environment where the love of reading and understanding of English books come together.

The Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are working together to inspect and fix homes in suburban Cook County. A family may qualify for this program if their income is below the program limit and if lead hazards are found in their home. If lead hazards are found in your home, CCDPH will work with a licensed contractor to fix the hazards at no cost to you. Work typically done to fix lead hazards includes painting, replacing windows, or other home repair work to remove lead paint.

The Love Fridges provides free food to anyone on a take-what-you-need, leave-what-you-can basis, while supplies are available. Fridges can be accessed 24/7 and are location in neighborhoods throughout the City of Chicago.Fridge Etiquette:Please wear a mask and ensure that your hands are clean if you intend on accessing the fridge.Avoid unnecessary contact with food items to prevent contamination.If you notice food has gone bad or packaging has been compromised, please throw it away.Check use-by dates on food products. Safe Families PLUS Mentors are key partners in helping older youth successfully transition to adulthood. Mentors are paired with a youth or young adult between the ages of 14 to 21, and are expected to commit to at least a year of meeting on a consistent basis.
