Provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to participate in recreational programs. Provides accommodations for youth, teens, and adults to participate in the following: General recreation programs Sports After school programs and camps Special Olympics and other special events Vacation/overnight trips

Offers clinical and faith-based counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults. All counseling sessions are via telehealth. Includes specialties such as marriage, bereavement, and abuse counseling.

Provides monthly financial assistance to help Township residents in need. Helps pay towards rent/mortgage, utilities, or medical expenses. Provides temporary aide while individual finds a job or waits for benefits approval.

Offers individual and group counseling for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Groups are available in confidential locations in various cities.

Provides prescription drug and sharps disposal boxes for outdated or unused prescription drugs. The collection boxes are located in the police department lobby. Items acceptable for the prescription disposal box include:

• Prescription medications, including controlled substances
• All over-the counter medications
• Medication samples
• Pet medications
• Vitamins and supplements
• Medicated ointments, lotions, creams and oils
• Liquid medication in leak-proof containers
• Homeopathic remedies

Items not acceptable for deposit in the collection box are:

• Needles/sharps
• Syringes with needles
• Thermometers
• IV bags
• Bloody or infectious waste
• Personal care products
• Empty containers
• Hydrogen Peroxide

Sharps Container available in the lobby for needle disposal. Sharps include:

• Syringes
• Hypodermic Needles
• Needles attached to tubing
• Lancets

To properly dispose of needles, do the following:

• Must use an approved disposal container that fits inside the disposal bin
• DO NOT deposit any loose sharps into the collection bin

Provides in-home support services to help prepare children under the age of three for preschool. Provides activities and education to ensure the child meets developmental milestones. Also offers monthly group classes for participants and prenatal classes for pregnant mothers.

Mobile outreach truck that provides services for people struggling with drug addiction. Services include:

• Safe Use Supplies - distributes naloxone, safe injection, smoking kits, and snorting kits
• Needle Exchange - allows individuals to exchange used needles for sterile ones
• Peer Support - Peer Recovery Specialists always travel as part of the outreach team
• Treatment Navigation - connects individuals with resources for jobs, housing, legal assistance, social service registration, etc. Provides transportation to appointments when available.
• Snacks and personal care items
• Printed resources - informational materials with recovery resources

Provides intervention services to prevent further incidents of domestic violence. Services include:

• Domestic violence assessments
• Individual and group therapy
• Anger management
• Workshops and community education for prevention of domestic violence

Offers one-time financial aid to help township residents prevent eviction or utility disconnection.

Provides 24-hour emergency relief to individuals and families affected by disasters such as house fires, earthquakes, floods, tornados, etc. Educates people in how to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Health and Safety Services offer courses in first aid, CPR, child-care, nurse assistant training, babysitting, swimming-life guarding and more on a regular basis. Courses and training are offered at the Chapter facilities or can be arranged at different localities for businesses and groups. Blood Services collects blood donations and supplies safe blood and blood products to local healthcare providers. Also offers various types of volunteering opportunities for adults and youth.

Provides supportive services for new parents in the military community. Offers prenatal education, developmental screenings, parenting skills, and play groups.

Provides sexual health services for Lake County residents ages 12 years and older. Provides comprehensive care and prevention services, including:

• HIV testing, counseling, and care
• Hepatitis C screening, counseling, and care
• Hepatitis A/B and HPV vaccinations
• STI testing, counseling, and treatment
• LGBTQ+ and gender health services
• PrEP and nPEP medication
• Support groups
• Needle exchange
• Safe sex supplies
• Referrals for related medical and behavioral health services

Provides up to $350 monthly to help Township residents pay for living expenses. Aid is given to people who are not eligible for any other state or federal assistance programs.

Offers subsidized public housing for income-eligible residents of North Chicago. Provides one bedroom apartments with the maximum occupancy of two people.

Provides resources and information about Mesothelioma and Asbestos exposure for the general public. Services include:

• Patient advocate team
• Treatment guide
