City of Chicago's select ward offices will act as an SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center to support residents in accessing U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) assistance. The SBA disaster declaration will allow homeowners, renters, businesses, and certain nonprofit organizations in Cook County and across northeastern Illinois to apply for low-interest disaster loans to support recovery efforts. This includes loans of up to $500,000 for real estate repairs, up to $100,000 for personal property and up to $2 million for businesses for physical damages. Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are also available to eligible small businesses and nonprofits experiencing financial losses as a result of the storms.
