Illinois Department of Human Services's (IDHS) Office of Rehabilitation Services helps individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, late-deafened, or deafblind find jobs, get ready to go to work, or obtain services to meet their needs. They serve as a resource to professionals, state agencies, community organizations, and the public, providing information related to employment, training, and accommodations for persons who have a hearing loss.

The Beliefs & Skills program offers a comprehensive curriculum developed in consultation with victim services agency partners. Following a strengths-based, trauma-informed individualized assessment that includes identifying the need for collateral services, participants complete an orientation and are then placed in an intervention group, which meets for a minimum of 24 consecutive weeks.

Through their Transition and STEP programs they help high school students who have disabilities plan for their futures after high school graduation. The Work Incentive Planning and Assistance Program helps people who receive SSDI/SSI benefits understand how working will affect their benefits. The Supported Employment Program (SEP) serves eligible people with significant disabilities who want to go to work and need on-going support services to succeed on the job.

Teachers facilitate individualized learning experiences to promote children's readiness for school and beyond.

SGA Youth & Family Services offers a school-based mental health resource provided throughout Chicago elementary, middle, and high schools.

Devices 4 the Disabled (D4D) accepts donations of crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, patient lifts, rehab chairs, power wheelchairs, scooters, and hospital beds to make them available by request to individuals with limited mobility.

Addus Homecare provides non-medical personal care services in the home to assist with daily living activities.

Institute for Nonviolence Chicago (INVC) provides case managers who support individuals in staying safe. Case managers work with participants to tailor services to their self-identified needs and goals, including positive behavioral supports, mentoring and counseling, housing referrals, job readiness training, placement services, and, as needed, referrals to more intensive external services such as substance abuse prevention and treatment.

Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity offers a five-class series to learn the ins and outs of buying, budgeting for, and maintaining a home. This program is open to the public, and anyone is welcome to enroll in the series.

The Pilsen Inn Residential Services, funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health, provides a 26-bed, 24-hour supervised residential setting for persons diagnosed with a mental illness.Rehabilitation services focus on increasing program participants' daily living skills, promoting independence, and sharing relevant knowledge and information related to their specific mental illness (i.e. importance of a medication regimen, adverse effects of discontinuing medications, signs and symptoms, etc.)Program services include Crisis intervention, Medication management, Independent living skills training, case management, and referrals for counseling services.
