Precious Moments is a rite of passage for young girls to reclaim the spiritual and cultural ways of honoring crossing over into young womanhood once the menstrual cycle has begun. At Precious Moments, Ba Nia staff discuss the taboos of menstruation. They share educational information in a celebratory way with the women in their immediate family, friends, and extended family, especially the elders.
