Application process
New clients should plan to arrive before 3pm on weekdays to have enough time to complete the intake process. Please call the provided number or visit the location in person to begin the intake process.

The HOPE Center is a resource center that provides free services to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless. Monday through Friday services include food pantry, clothing, laundry services, locker and shower facilities, mailbox/voicemail/email services, transportation assistance, and case management which covers job counseling, mental health counseling, housing counseling, financial counseling, housing assistance, and healthcare and legal referrals. The HOPE Center is also where people register to use emergency shelters in the area. A family nurse practitioner offers free healthcare on Thursdays and can assist with accessing prescriptions, and on Tuesdays they offer bike repair.On weekends, the location is still available as a cooling/warming center but no other services are available.

Journeys the Road Home is a non-profit agency that provides both shelter and social services to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in 37 towns in north/northwest suburban Cook County. The mission of JOURNEYS is to individually assess and serve its clients, while broadening community awareness and involvement. For suburban Cook County residents at risk of losing their primary nighttime residence in the next two weeks or those who do not have a place to stay and are in need of emergency shelter in the next 24-48 hours, please call (877) 426-6515 Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm to be connected with the Suburban Cook County Call Center.
