Eligibility
- Must be a Lake County resident for at least two years and a legal U.S. resident
- Gross household income must be below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) based on family size
- Current housing must be substandard or inadequate (overcrowded, unsafe, or unaffordable), accessibility is needed, or family income is insufficient to afford a conventional mortgage
- Must have stable source of gross income that falls between 50-80% of the AMI based on household size
- Families must agree to contribute Sweat Equity for at least 500 hours of building Habitat homes, completing 40 weekly financial education classes, monthly budgeting sessions, and other homeowner education classes
